Angular separation and planet-to-planet distance
Local calculations via astronomy-engine. Toggle topocentric angle, scan across time, plot the paths, and switch the time-axis display between observer timezone and UTC.
Geocentric angle: from Earth’s centre. Same for all locations.
Topocentric angle: from your observing site. Includes parallax, so location can matter slightly.
- For planets, the difference is usually small.
- Plots, scan results, and CSV use whichever mode is selected.
Angle uses geocentric or topocentric mode depending on the checkbox. Distance is heliocentric. Alt/Az readouts are topocentric.

Presets come from the shared ABHLSD location helper. “Use current location” asks the browser for device location; timezone falls back to the device timezone.
